Q Ball

Just across the Bay from the NBA champion Golden State Warriors lies another team of Warriors, consisting solely of individuals playing home games—this time at San Quentin Prison. These athletes, with promising future cut short by felony convictions, embark on a challenging journey toward rehabilitation through the power of basketball. In the inspiring documentary Q Ball, viewers witness the courageous efforts of these men as they confront their past mistakes and strive for redemption. Central to the story is Harry “ATL” Smith, a star player on the brink of parole who continues to hold on to his NBA aspirations; Anthony “Ant” Ammons, a life-sentenced inmate who guides younger prisoners; and Rafael Cuevas, the head coach and convicted murderer, who sees his role as preparing the team for life beyond prison walls. For each, the basketball team is more than a pastime—it’s a lifeline and family. Watch Q Ball on cineby.
