Red Beard

Noboru Yasumoto dreams of a simple role as a private doctor for a rich family, but his initial assignment after finishing medical school lands him at a modest rural clinic under the stern guidance of Dr. Red Beard. Yasumoto initially resists in various forms, yet Dr. Red Beard turns out to be a knowledgeable and calm mentor. Over time, he exposes Yasumoto to the less appealing aspects of being a doctor, culminating in the assignment of treating a prostitute saved from a nearby brothel.
