Säilöttyjä unelmia

A simple can of ravioli sparks an extraordinary 30,000-kilometer journey across eight countries, exploring each stage of food production and the origin of global ingredients. This is a dream-like voyage that unveils unsettling truths, starting with a single mother working in one of Brazil’s largest open-pit mines and culminating on a grocery shelf in Finland. Throughout this journey, the dedicated hands that mine, raise, and harvest each element of the meal share their hopes and aspirations, such as a Danish pig farmer who cherishes his pigs yet yearns for a girlfriend, or a Portuguese tomato picker striving to stay healthy to fund her daughter’s university education. With exquisite visuals and remarkable sound design, the film offers a poignant commentary on our interconnected world, highlighting the myriad unseen individuals behind the food on our tables.
