Screwed

The movie “Screwed” (2011) draws inspiration from the real-life experiences of ex-prison guard Ronnie Thompson, who dedicated seven years to working in some of the most perilous prisons in the UK. This cinematic project, adapted from Thompson’s book of the same title, features an ensemble cast with James D’Arcy (Master & Commander), Noel Clarke (Kidulthood), Frank Harper (The Football Factory), Jamie Foreman (Layer Cake), Andrew Shim (This Is England), and Kate Magowan (Stardust). The narrative follows Sam Norwood, a former soldier who, after his tour in Iraq, takes on the role of a prison officer and discovers the seedy underbelly of prison life, rife with corrupt officials and rampant drug trade.
