Alaska: Battle on the Bay

In the remote expanses of Bristol Bay, Alaska, the world’s fiercest fishing season unfolds over a brief four-week period. During this time, 1,800 captains and their crews set out on a mission not just to secure hefty earnings from the abundant sockeye salmon but to aid in preserving Alaska’s delicate ecosystem. With millions in potential earnings lying beneath the waves, five captains gear up to face the relentless bay, where boats crash for prime spots and strict regulations keep a close eye with helicopters and police.
