Junior MasterChef Australia
Overview
Junior MasterChef Australia is an Australian cooking competition for young chefs. It is a spin-off from MasterChef Australia, which itself takes inspiration from the original British format, MasterChef. This show features talented kids aged 8 to 12 stepping into the culinary spotlight. Production for the inaugural season began in July 2010, with 50 young contestants selected from over 5,000 hopefuls nationwide. The judging panel includes Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, Anna Gare, and newcomer Matt Moran, taking over duties from Matt Preston. Callum Hann also participates in the series. Unlike previous editions, Shine Australia is in charge of production. A promo clip was aired during the finale of MasterChef Australia, with the official premiere taking place on Sunday, 12 September 2010.
