K-ON!

Rock n’ Roll may be eternal, but the Light Music Club at Sakuragaoka Girl’s High School is facing the possibility of disbandment, unless aspiring drummer Ritsu Tainaka can recruit three new members to fill the void left by graduating seniors. With a strong resolve to keep the rhythm alive, Ritsu enlists the help of her friend Mio Akiyama on bass, and together they aim to persuade Tsumugi Kotobuki, who’s more inclined towards choir, to join as their keyboard player. Despite their efforts, they still need a standout member with an innate star quality. However, they discover Yui Hirasawa, a girl searching for a club to settle into, who has never strummed a guitar before. When Yui grips a worn-out six-string and plays, it feels unbelievably right, and soon it’s clear she’s found the place where she fits perfectly. The shared dream of playing music binds these four girls, even if that dream includes the wild ambition of performing at the illustrious Budokan someday. It’s a challenging journey ahead, but with passion and inspiration, their musical dreams could take flight in K-ON!. Watch K-ON! (2009) online for free here.
