Yin Yang Yo!

Yin Yang Yo! is an animated TV series crafted by Bob Boyle II and brought to life by Jetix Animation Concepts. As the third original show of the Jetix lineup, it premiered in the U.S. on October 2, 2006, following a sneak peek in late August of that year. The United Kingdom audience got a glimpse in January 2007, with the full premiere airing in February, while Canadian viewers first tuned in on March 25, 2006, via the Family Channel. A talented team from popular series like Fairly OddParents, Family Guy, Kim Possible, and Danny Phantom contributed to its creative and animation aspects. Steve Marmel, the head writer and an anime aficionado, drew inspiration from anime and similar styles, reflected in series like Teen Titans or FLCL. This show centers on two anthropomorphic rabbit siblings, Yin and Yang, mentored by their panda-like sensei, Yo, in the mystical martial art of Woo Foo. The second season kicked off on December 31, 2007, concluding on April 18, 2009. Though nominated for the British Academy Children’s Award in 2007, Yin Yang Yo! gracefully conceded to the ever-popular SpongeBob SquarePants. On Disney XD Canada, the show’s reruns were a staple from June 1, 2011, until nearly the close of 2012.
