Shank

Mo Ali’s adventurous knife-crime film places the gritty worlds of “Children of Men” and “District 13” in the heart of London’s East 17. “SHANK” offers a stark portrayal of a future urban landscape, where the youth, lacking direction, have exchanged guns for knives as their weapons of choice. Amid this turmoil, the Paper Chazers emerge as a unique gang, known for their ethical stance of trading scavenged food for cash. When Junior, played by Kedar Williams-Stirling, witnesses his brother’s murder, he faces a dilemma: seek revenge or adhere to his gang’s principles. With a seamless blend of pace and artistry, this film explores modern societal challenges against the backdrop of shadowy urban streets, creating vibrant scenarios for both imagination and action.
