Silenced

Silenced (2014) delves into the rarely charged Espionage Act of 1917, under which only 11 Americans have faced charges, with eight of those occurring during President Obama’s administration. The film by James Spione, which is accessible to watch online, presents the riveting personal stories of Thomas Drake and John Kiriakou, alongside accountability advocate Jesselyn Radack, who played a crucial role in unveiling their stories to the world. Silenced offers a compelling and thought-provoking narrative that reflects the extent to which the government has gone to obscure its most incriminating secrets, making a poignant case for whistleblower protection in the post-Snowden era.
