Te Ata

“Te Ata” (2017) presents the remarkable journey of Mary Thompson Fisher, a proud Chickasaw Nation member, in a heartfelt portrayal of a culture evolving over time. Embarking from her roots in Indian Territory, Fisher pursued an acting career, only to uncover her true purpose close to home—preserving and sharing Native stories. Her talents took her from the stages of Chautauquas to Broadway and even as far as the White House, captivating audiences, including heads of state, American presidents, and European royalty, with Native American tales and songs. The film, featuring Chickasaw actors on both sides of the camera, stars Q’orianka Kilcher, known for “The New World,” alongside Graham Greene. Watch Te Ata online.
