Ten Years

Experience a compelling compilation of five shorts that envision the future of Hong Kong a decade from now. In “Extras,” two friendly, low-level criminals find themselves caught in a political scheme as mere pawns, tasked with staging an assault. “Season of the End” captivates as rebels passionately aim to preserve remnants of destroyed homes and belongings. Meanwhile, “Dialect” tells the tale of a taxi driver grappling with the dominance of Putonghua, replacing Cantonese as the sole official language of Hong Kong. “Self-Immolator” drives intense emotions, showing the aftermath of a self-immolation incident outside the British consulate, sparking dialog and dissent. Lastly, “Local Egg” follows a grocery owner deeply concerned about his son’s involvement with the youth guard and the impact of the closure of Hong Kong’s last chicken farm on egg supplies.
