The Bang Bang Club

Set against the backdrop of the early to mid-1990s, “The Bang Bang Club” follows four fearless photographers—Greg Marinovich, Kevin Carter, Ken Oosterbroek, and João Silva—who form a close-knit group driven by friendship and a shared mission. They courageously document the violent turmoil and political upheavals leading up to South Africa’s momentous 1994 elections that brought Nelson Mandela to power. Their work demands they place themselves in the midst of life-threatening encounters, pitting them between government-backed forces, including the Inkatha Zulu warriors, and Mandela’s African National Congress supporters.
