The Coming Days

Set in the year 2020, the narrative unfolds in a post-European Union era following the chaos of the fourth Gulf War. With towering barricades aiming to keep illegal immigrants out of fiercely struggling cities, Walter Kuper and his family find themselves at the heart of this chaotic situation. Walter, an executive at an energy conglomerate, must navigate his family’s tumultuous dynamics. His daughter, Cecilia, has joined the radical Black Storm group, while her sister, Laura, is torn between her role as a mother and her romantic relationship. Meanwhile, their brother, Philip, is summoned to defend Germany in a desperate war over the final oil reserves. Featuring the talents of Daniel Brühl, Johanna Wokalek, and Jürgen Vogel, “The Coming Days” explores unsettling questions about the world through its portrayal of personal and political dilemmas in a disturbingly plausible future.
