The Dresser

On a dramatic evening in a quaint English regional theatre during the tumultuous times of World War II, a traveling group of actors prepares to perform Shakespeare’s “King Lear.” With bombs falling and sirens echoing, they face a race against time, as the lead actor and manager, known as Sir, is missing just an hour before the curtain rises. His dedicated dresser, Norman, must swiftly act to ensure the show continues, but the question remains whether Sir will appear in time and—if he does—whether he can deliver his performance that night. “The Dresser” is both a brilliantly humorous and touching tale that explores themes of companionship and devotion, as Sir contemplates his career’s legacy and strives to mend strained relationships with his colleagues before the play concludes.
