Michael Madsen plays the bar owner, who is deeply indebted to Burt Young, the local bookmaker and loan shark. Meanwhile, amidst trying to evade the wreckage of his faltering marriage to Mary Stuart Masterson, one of the bar’s regulars, portrayed by Chris Penn, seeks solace. As the bartender’s sister, played by Virginia Madsen, is on the brink of marrying, her past resurfaces when Tom Sizemore’s character, her former fiancé who abandoned her at the altar years ago, unexpectedly returns.
