The Great White Hype

In “The Great White Hype” (1996), the boxing world takes an intriguing turn when promoter Rev. Sultan realizes he needs a fresh approach to keep the matches exciting and financially appealing. He digs into the past to find the sole man who has ever triumphed over the current champion—a white man who has since stepped away from boxing. Sultan manages to persuade him back into the ring, prompting the former opponent to undergo rigorous training, while the champion, complacent in his past victories, neglects his own conditioning.
