The King

Raised in a struggling household, Tae-su discovers that influence is life’s paramount treasure and chooses to pursue a career as a prosecutor, the pinnacle of authority during the 1990s. Following his admission to a top-tier law school and partaking in Korea’s democratic movements, Tae-su achieves his ambition of becoming a prosecutor, only to find that his life mirrors that of an ordinary office worker. By a stroke of fate, he becomes part of an elite group of affluent and authoritative prosecutors. Experiencing the exhilarating heights of elite power, Tae-su also witnesses its harsh realities.

The King (2017) embodies these juxtapositions beautifully. To fully appreciate Tae-su’s journey, you can stream The King (2017) and watch it online for free on cineby or 123Movies.
