The King of Havana

After a daring escape from a reformatory, Reinaldo finds himself navigating the challenging streets of Havana during the late 1990s, a particularly difficult period for Cuban society. As he roams the city, Reinaldo’s experiences are colored by a mix of hope, disillusionment, copious rum, humor, and, most poignantly, hunger. His chance encounters with fellow survivors Magda and Yunisleidy add layers of complexity to his journey, offering him a temporary refuge from the harsh realities through love, passion, tenderness, and unrestrained intimacy.
