The Last Temptation of Christ

In “The Last Temptation of Christ (1988),” Jesus, a modest carpenter from Judea, starts to realize his divine nature as the son of God. Despite his own beliefs that love should conquer, he is pushed toward revolutionary actions against the oppressive Roman regime, largely due to the urgings of Judas. The immense responsibility of being mankind’s savior weighs heavily on Jesus, introducing him to a life of constant doubt and inner torment. As he faces crucifixion, he is presented with tantalizing visions of an ordinary existence, living a simple life married to Mary Magdalene. Stream the movie now.
