The Moderns

Nick Hart is an American artist struggling to make his mark amidst the expatriate community in 1920s Paris. Most of his days are spent in cafés, indulging in drinks and socializing, while persistently urging gallery owner Libby Valentin to showcase his artworks. His life takes a dramatic turn when art patroness Nathalie de Ville ropes him into a conspiracy to create forgeries of three important paintings. This entanglement brings him into conflict with Bertram Stone, an American magnate in the rubber industry, who is coincidentally married to Hart’s former wife Rachel.
