The Mortician

Detachment and indifference characterize The Mortician (played by Method Man) as he goes about his work, devoid of emotion and connection. Lonely and cut off from the world, his routine shifts when he meets his new assistant, Noah (portrayed by EJ Bonilla), who is introduced by the morgue’s manager (Edward Furlong). Noah, serving time through supervised work release, unwittingly brings chaos by leading the dreaded gangster, Carver (Dash Mihok), to the mortuary. The Mortician’s attention is drawn by the distinct tattoo of Botticelli’s ‘Birth of Venus’ on a murdered woman’s body, which evokes vivid childhood memories. Eventually, upon encountering Kane (Cruz Santiago), a frightened child escaping from the morgue, he is compelled into action. As unlikely allies, they embark on an escape for redemption. Through his unexpected bravery, the Mortician reconnects with his past and discovers the peace he yearned for. The Mortician (2011) is available to stream.
