The Pit and the Pendulum

During the peak of the Spanish Inquisition, the compassionate Maria finds herself accused of witchcraft after expressing horror during a child’s public flogging. Her husband, Antonio, is desperate to free her, but the sinister Grand Inquisitor, Torquemada, seeks to torment Maria to quell his own forbidden desires. Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s famous tale, this story delves into themes of desire and persecution. To watch “The Pit and the Pendulum (1991)” without delay, check out the streaming options here.
