The Portuguese Falcon

Set against the backdrop of fascist Portugal, “The Portuguese Falcon (2015)” delivers a sharp satire on the anti-communist hysteria of that era. The show chronicles the escapades of Captain Falcão, the fiercely patriotic Lusitanian superhero, who is unwaveringly committed to executing the orders of António de Oliveira Salazar in his crusade against the “red peril.” The series features Gonçalo Waddington as the titular Captain Falcão, with David Chan Cordeiro playing his trusty sidekick, Puto Perdiz, and José Pinto portraying the authoritarian leader, Salazar. It’s an intriguing twist on traditional hero narratives. Stream “The Portuguese Falcon (2015)” on this site right now.
