The Search for a New Earth

In this groundbreaking documentary, Professor Stephen Hawking collaborates with engineer and radio astronomy specialist Professor Danielle George, along with his former student Christophe Galfard, to explore the possibility of humans venturing into space and establishing new colonies on other planets. As they travel the globe, they engage with leading scientists, technologists, and engineers who are pursuing answers to critical questions: Is there another planet we can consider home? How can we traverse the immense distances of space to reach it? What are the challenges of surviving such a journey, and how can we create a new human society on a distant planet? The film showcases current breakthroughs in astronomy, biology, and rocket science from locations like the Atacama Desert and the remote Arctic, revealing that Professor Hawking’s vision is more within reach than initially believed, and that our world of science fiction may soon become science fact. “The Search for a New Earth (2017)” can be streamed online for free right here.
