Three Wishes

While driving with her two sons, Jane Holman accidentally hits a drifter named Jack McCloud, who sustains a broken leg. Feeling obligated, Jane invites Jack and his dog to stay at her house until he recovers. As Jack adjusts to their way of life, he becomes cherished by the family, particularly forming a close friendship with Tom, Jane’s son, who misses his father lost in the Korean War. Jack starts teaching Tom baseball, strengthening their bond, while Gunny grows suspicious about the true nature of Jack and his connection with Betty Jane. Eventually, it’s revealed that Jack is a former 1941 baseball player for the White Socks who vanished after his debut season. This enchanting tale explores whether the magic seen between Jack and the boy is reality or mere imagination, highlighting themes of friendship and the realization that life is not as predictable as it seems.
