Time to Leave

At the age of 31, Romain, a photographer, discovers that he has only a few months to live due to a terminal illness. Struggling with the news, he is faced with tough choices about treatment, his career, and how to communicate with his lover and family. Memories of the sea and his own childhood come rushing back, and he finds himself distancing from others, wondering about the futility of it all. A visit to his grandmother becomes a journey of reflection, during which he encounters a waitress named Jany, and revisits connections with his past through old photographs and a childhood treehouse. On his way back, a second meeting with Jany presents him with a proposition that might offer a new perspective amidst his isolation. He returns home only to realize his lover has left, leaving him alone to contemplate Jany’s offer. “Time to Leave (2005)” is available to stream for free online.
