To End All Wars

This compelling drama, inspired by true events, centers on a tight-knit faction of Allied soldiers in Burma who find themselves prisoners of the Japanese during World War II. Amid the dire circumstances, Capt. Ernest Gordon, played by Ciaran McMenamin, along with Lt. Jim Reardon, portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland, and Maj. Ian Campbell, brought to life by Robert Carlyle, endure harsh conditions, including regular beatings and starvation. While Campbell is determined to orchestrate an escape, Gordon adopts a more philosophical outlook, which unexpectedly influences those around him. To End All Wars (2001) is a remarkable film.
