12 Monkeys

In 2035, prisoner James Cole is unwillingly chosen to travel back in time to uncover the source of a lethal virus that has decimated much of humanity and compelled the survivors to live below ground. However, due to an error, Cole is sent to 1990 instead of 1996, where he is apprehended and confined in a psychiatric facility. Within the asylum, he encounters Dr. Kathryn Railly, a psychiatrist, and Jeffrey Goines, a fellow patient and the son of a renowned virus specialist. Goines may possess insights into the enigmatic faction known as the Army of the 12 Monkeys, suspected of releasing the fatal pathogen. 12 Monkeys (1995) offers a thrilling time-travel narrative.
