Vexille

In 2067, Japan decides to close itself off from the rest of the world, responding to international policies that impose strict regulations on robotic technology. The country becomes an isolated realm where no outsiders are allowed in and no citizens are permitted to leave. Ten years later, in 2077, this rigidly maintained seclusion is disrupted. The clandestine group S.W.O.R.D. manages to penetrate the veil, tasked with uncovering whether Japan is secretly advancing prohibited robotic bio-technology, which is banned because it poses a significant threat to human existence. The dire conflict unfolds between humans and machines, placing humanity in grave peril. Vexille (2007) is a must-watch.
