W sypialni

In “W sypialni (2012),” Edyta, a woman in her forties, finds herself navigating a personal crisis. She has left her family and her seaside home behind, seeking refuge in a Warsaw hotel while aimlessly driving around the unfamiliar city during the day. As her financial resources dwindle, Edyta devises a scheme by placing a newspaper ad offering sex for money; however, she never goes through with it, instead drugging her clients and using their apartments as temporary sanctuaries. Her encounter with an artist named Patryk introduces a touch of luck, disrupting her aloof demeanor. In this captivating exploration of character, director Tomasz Wasilewski employs filmic minimalism to convey unspoken emotions through glances and gestures, presenting a woman who embodies both fragility and resilience.
