What Will People Say

Sixteen-year-old Nisha skillfully leads two contrasting lives. Within her family, she embodies the ideal Pakistani daughter, yet outside her home, she embraces the lifestyle of a typical Norwegian teenager. Everything changes dramatically, however, when her father discovers her with her boyfriend, causing her carefully balanced worlds to clash violently. To make a point, her parents abduct her and send her to live with relatives in Pakistan—a country completely unfamiliar to her—where she must adjust to their cultural expectations. “What Will People Say (2017)” can be streamed online here, offering a gripping exploration of cultural conflict and identity.
