Why do Fools Fall in Love

In the mid-1980s, three distinct women, each accompanied by a lawyer, converge on the New York office of a music manager named Morris Levy. This intriguing group includes an L.A. singer who was once part of the Platters, a small-time thief from Philadelphia, and a schoolteacher from a rural Georgia town. Each woman asserts that she is the rightful widow of Frankie Lyman, the famous doo-wop artist who met an untimely end due to a heroin addiction and left years of unpaid royalties in his wake. As the civil trial unfolds, flashbacks reveal their unique experiences with Lyman, highlighting his high-pitched voice and lively performance style. Despite their differences, the women gradually develop a unique camaraderie. Watch “Why do Fools Fall in Love (1998)” online now!
