Window Horses

Rosie Ming, a young poet from Canada, receives an invitation to a Poetry Festival in Shiraz, Iran, though she fantasizes about being in Paris instead. She resides with her overly-cautious Chinese grandparents and has never ventured out on her own before. Upon arriving in Iran, Rosie is surrounded by fellow poets and locals who share stories that challenge her perceptions about her past, notably concerning her Iranian father she believed had abandoned her, as well as the true essence of poetry. The film delves into bridging gaps between different cultures and generations. It’s a tale of curiosity, openness, and discovering one’s own voice through poetry. Through her unexpected journey, Rosie finds herself on a path to forgiveness, reconciliation, and ultimately, a deeper understanding of her cultural roots and obligations.
